Wet weather driving, can we help you?

Who said it's only April that has showers, so far May has been pretty wet this year which can sometimes cause chaos on the roads. Here are a few tips from the team to help keep you safe while driving in wet weather.

  • Before setting out on your journey make sure that your tyre tread is at the correct depth (we are happy to check this for you, otherwise use a 20p coin. If you can see the outer rim of the coin then your tyre is approaching the legal minimum tread depth of 1.6mm. If this is the case you should consider replacing it.) Pop in and see us at UTS or give us a call to discuss your requirements. We have tyres to suit all needs and budgets. Take a look at our Video page for more info on Wet Braking Tests.
  • Check that your windscreen wipers are working correctly and are not leaving smears across your windscreen and that your visibility is good
  • Ensure that all of your lights and indicators are functioning as they should
  • Keep your distance from other vehicles on the road and avoid slamming on the brakes

If your vehicle is having issues with any of the above, please drop in or call to talk to us about how we can assist you.
